The benefits to heat- shrink tubing is it protects from moisture, UV light, corrosion, and oxidation etc. They insulate terminations and connections, it can repair cable splices, installation damage, connections, etc. Shrink tubing comes in multiple colors are a good way at identifying circuits through color coding, grouping and labeling.
